Teacher Training Program
The Mega Barre team is expanding and we are looking to train & hire experienced fitness instructors. We are looking for confident, self motivated individuals who walk the walk and are passionate about fitness and helping others. At Mega Barre, our instructors are the heart of the studio’s success and represent the Mega Barre brand and our community in all aspects. We are looking for individuals who can captivate a room and bring the best out of our clients.
If you want considered as a Mega Barre employed instructor, Part 2 submitting an application (below). If chosen to move forward, you then would be expected to perform a 20 minute audition and interview following the actual training weekend. All new instructors with no prior teaching experience, will then teach a minimum of 10 community classes unpaid before being offered a permanent role. Trainees that do get hired will receive additional training and mentorship at no additional cost.
- 6 hours per day and must be in person for the entirety of the weekend, no exceptions (exact times not set as of yet)
- This training will be held by an official senior master trainer representing the Lagree Method
- Upon completion of this weekend, you will be considered a Level 1 Lagree instructor
- This certifies you are eligible to teach at any Lagree licensed studio
- Once complete and if still interested in teaching at Mega Barre, Part 2 of the training applies
- 4 hours per day and must be in person for the entirety, no exceptions
- Training will be held by studio co owner and founder, Laura Zavadil
- Upon completion of this training, you will be Mega Mat Certified
- Once complete and if still interested in teaching at Mega Barre, Part 2 of the training applies
- This certification does not meet any AFAA, ACE or personal training continuing education credits
- This course will take about 6 hours to complete, self paced & self guided
- Quizzes are throughout and must be passed to receive certification

Where can I teach?
If you complete the Lagree Level 1 Certification, you will be eligible to teach at any Lagree Licensed studio in the world
If you complete our Mega Mat, Box Step or Bounce & Build certification, you will be able to teach at any fitness studio or gym you desire (however please note, you will be asked to sign a licensing agreement that states you are not allowed to teach these particular trade marked methods within 20 miles of Boardman, Ohio)
If you are looking to be considered to teach at Mega Barre, you must complete the application, training, and pass the audition/interview.
Note that just completing our trainings DOES NOT guarantee a teaching role in our studio or any other studio.
Want to train & teach at Mega Barre?
To be considered for teaching at Mega Barre, all applicants must fit the following:
NON-NEGOTIABLE, DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
- Enthusiastic, confident and have an outgoing personality
- Have a passion for fitness, wellness, and helping others
- Ability and desire to build client relationships through outstanding customer service
- Active lifestyle, already living a health-centered life
- Dependable with a strong work ethic – natural willingness to go above and beyond
- Confidence to energetically command a room of 20 people
- Musicality – ability to keep rhythm and count to beat of music
- Background in dance, fitness, cheerleading or barre concept (ideal but not required)
- Minimum of 1 weekly class, ideally 2
- Sub at least 1 class per month, demonstrating support of teammates and getting to know and be known by clients in other classes
- Post and promote yourself, the studio and your classes on your social media channels
- Engage with clients and help connect with each other so clients form bonds with each other and look forward to spending time together at the studio
- Take classes at least twice per month to learn from other instructors and so clients can see you are in it together
- Provide studio tours to first timers when they arrive and create a first impression that lasts
- Explain and sell intro packages to new clients
- Maintain a safe and clean studio environment
- In person Weekend Training for whichever track you are interested in or Online Training if applicable
- 12 hours to be completed in the 6 weeks following the training (i.e. mentorship and teacher shadowing to be scheduled individually)
- Daily Study Hours: recommended 1 hour per day
Please note: teacher placement on the schedule is not guaranteed. Future instructors for Mega Barre must pass evaluations and auditions, and will most likely be put on the substitute list to start. Regular placement on the schedule is based on demand, performance and current attendance at the studio and not guaranteed at anytime.

Training Time
Each class modality has different training dates & time requirements. Some modules will be done live in person, in studio, some will be self guided via online modules. You are welcome to do one or them all! Each are independent of each other.

Show us your form, musicality, and how you connect with others in the studio. We will evaluate your potential as a fit at our studio and let you know if you can continue with mentoring.

Mentorship
Put what you’ve learned into action by teaching practice classes and shadowing veteran instructors. You will need to complete 12 hours of practice time within the 6 weeks of your training.
