At MegaBarre Youngstown, we house 2 studio rooms for a variety of small group fitness class options.
Studio 1 is the Multi-Modality Studio
Barre: Balance & Flexibility
A unique combination of intense sculpting, pilates inspired exercises and interval training designed to elevate your heart rate, build strength, improve flexibility, and rev up your metabolism. This class is the perfect combination of strength and flexibility with added cardio to get lasting results. *does not require dance experience. Barefeet recommended.
Mega Mat Pilates: Burn & Tone
A full body muscle toning class designed to build strength, using resistance and high repetitions to define and build lean muscles. This class utilizes props in combination with body weight. Barefeet or sticky socks are recommended.
Strength: Slow & Controlled Full Body
Dynamic resistance training to sculpt your body, ignite your metabolism and increase your bone density. We will guide you through a workout that incorporates weighted body bars, medicine balls, bodyweight exercises and dumbbells to challenge and strengthen every muscle group. All levels. Wear clean tennis shoes.
Bounce Trampoline Fitness: Cardio & Sculpt
This is a fun, high intensity, low impact cardio workout that gets your heart pumping without putting extra stress on your joints. This workout is performed half on a mini trampoline and half on the floor/mat for sculpting intervals. Wear clean tennis shoes or barefeet.
- Cardiovascular health: Rebounding is a low-impact exercise that’s more effective than jogging and running. A NASA study found that 10 minutes of jumping on a trampoline burns more calories than 30 minutes of running, and is 68% more effective than jogging
- Joint health: Rebounding is a joint-friendly exercise
- Mental health: Rebounding can help relieve anxiety symptoms.
- Balance and coordination: Rebounding can improve balance and coordination, which can enhance motor skills.
- Lymphatic system: Rebounding motions can stimulate the lymphatic system, which helps flush out toxins and fight disease.
- Biomechanical work: Rebounding uses the forces of acceleration and deceleration to produce internal loading, which requires less energy and oxygen, and puts less demand on the heart.
- NASA astronauts are often put on a rebounding program after returning from space.
Box Step: Cardio Inspired by Step Aerobics
This class energizes traditional interval training with a modern-day step aerobics class. While this class is cardio heavy, we will have intervals of strength and sculpting to make this a great total body workout! Please wear clean indoor tennis shoes.
Power Yoga: Balance & Stretch
Turn up the heat on your traditional power yoga by alternating between HIIT intervals and lower intensity stretch recovery with a powerful focus on cardio, stretch and strength building. Class will begin with traditional yoga centering and sun salutations and will pick up speed and increase heart rate with light dumbells and full body poses and sculpting.
Rave: Fun, easy to learn Dance Cardio set to Hip Hop Hits
Dance like no one is watching! A fun, repetitive dance and cardio class grounded in contagious blends of music from hip hop to top dance hits. Prepare to dance, burn and repeat. #danceburnrepeat All levels welcome, non-dancers welcome! Wear clean tennis shoes.
Many of the classes hosted in Studio 1 are available for live stream, for a virtual option from anywhere in the world!
All classes focus on proper biomechanics for a safe and well-structured class that can be modified for any fitness level.
Note: Studio 1 classes are suggested for the fitness novice to gain body awareness, core strength and coordination before attempting Megaformer classes
Studio 2 offers the Lagree Fitness Method™ on the Megaformer
Lagree uses complex movements that target multiple muscle groups in each exercise. Lagree focuses on slow, controlled motion. This is keeping your muscles activated for extended periods of time. By performing these Megaformer workouts at a slow pace, you maximize your muscles’ time under tension.
Balance is created by applying equal focus to all elements of exercise and never prioritizing one facet over another. We believe form is paramount and should always prevail over intensity.
Varying degrees of spring-based tension on a moving, weight resisted bed, allow the Lagree Method to adjust to the user during use. This immediate adaptability creates a tailored experience that is unique to the student.
