I’m A Beginner, Can I Handle These Classes?
Beginners are always welcome! Each class has many different levels and your instructors will give lots of modifications on how to make the exercise harder for those that want a push, or a little easier, for those just starting out. Remember that everyone has to start somewhere!
Always inform your instructor of any injuries or if you pre/post natal. If you have blood pressure issues, diabetic or a seizure disorder, this is also very helpful for your instructor to know. Please pace yourself and listen to the instructor very carefully. It’s ok to start slow. It’s ok to take breaks. Ease into your workouts and you’ll be more likely to stick with them in the long run.
What Is So Different About Your Classes?
Compared to traditional gym offerings or other popular fitness modalities, at Mega Barre Youngstown each class has been intelligently designed to be full body focused.
We offer both Strength and Cardio based classes between 2 studio rooms so you have varied class options and can get the most well rounded workout.
All of our classes are considered fusion fitness and Pilates-Based, that promise high intensity yet low impact exercises.
We are not a franchise and proudly locally owned and operated. This gives us the creative freedom to continually raise the “barre” and uplevel our offerings.
Our seasoned instructors take the time with each individual when and if needed during class to ensure you are executing the moves correctly and safely.
I’m Pregnant, Is It OK To Come To Class?
If you have been active prior to you becoming pregnant, then yes, you can take Mega Barre Studio classes with no issues. We will show modifications for abdominal work and cardiovascular moves for you as you go along your pregnancy so you and your baby are perfectly safe! If you are just beginning to work out in general after finding out you are pregnant, I would advise you wait to try classes until after delivery and with doctor’s clearance. Before starting any new activity, I strongly encourage your doctor’s approval.
What Do I Need To Bring To Class With Me?
For Cardio based classes, please wear clean (inside only) tennis shoes. Otherwise, bare feet or sticky socks is fine.
For Megaformer classes, sticky socks ARE required. We do have some for purchase in studio if needed.
You’ll also need water and a towel. Oh, don’t forget a positive attitude, focus, and intention!
Everything else you need, is provided.
How Long Is The Class?
Class times vary.
Multi Modality Studio classes are 50 minutes.
Megaformer Studio classes are 45 minutes.
If you must leave early, please inform your instructor before class starts. For your own safety, we do not recommend starting or ending more than 5 minutes past start time or before finish time. Proper warm up and cool down is very much part of the effectiveness of our workouts.
How Many Times Per Week Should I Go?
3-5 classes per week is recommended for the best results! But start with 1-2 and work your way up as you get stronger.
Our clients see the most success when taking both Cardio & Strength based classes.
What Do I Wear?
Comfortable, breathable clothing but nothing too baggy. What not to wear…dangling jewelry, loose clothing, strong perfumes.
Are Classes For Both Men and Women?
Absolutely!
Do You Have Childcare?
Yes, children ages 6 months-12 years are welcome. Cost is $5per child. However, we are not a day care. This is a babysitting service provided to you for convenience. All of our sitters have BCI clearances and are CPR certified for your assurance. Please note that the sitters WILL NOT change diapers, feed bottles, take children to the bathroom or provide snacks. If anything of this nature is needed, the sitter will pull the mom from class for their assistance.
