I’m A Beginner, Can I Handle These Classes?
Beginners are always welcome! Each class has many different levels and your instructors will give lots of modifications on how to make the exercise harder for those that want a push, or a little easier, for those just starting out. Remember that everyone has to start somewhere!
Always inform your instructor of any injuries or if you pre/post natal. If you have blood pressure issues, diabetic or a seizure disorder, this is also very helpful for your instructor to know. Please pace yourself and listen to the instructor very carefully. It’s ok to start slow. It’s ok to take breaks. Ease into your workouts and you’ll be more likely to stick with them in the long run.
What Is So Different About Your Classes?
Compared to classes and other fitness modalities, at Mega Barre Youngstown, each move has been intelligently designed. We take the time with each individual when and if needed during class to ensure you are executing the moves correctly and safely. You are not just another person in the room!
Some of the Barre studio benefits:
- Tone your muscles without looking bulky…these moves will provide long, lean muscles and abs of steel!
- Trim your hips, thighs, and buns while sculpting core, abs and back
- Boost your fat burn and heart rate with short cardio intervals – a very important step for overall fitness
- Have fun! Ballet and dance inspired moves with high energy music. And no, you don’t need any dance experience to take this class, although at times you’ll feel like a Rockette or a prima ballerina.
- Work in the neutral spine so you aren’t stressing too much on your low back or hip flexors. You are evenly using your core and stabilizers through the moves, very unique to this method.
All of our classes are considered fusion fitness and Pilates-Based, and a combination of so many effective and low impact methods. We are not a franchise and proudly locally owned and operated. This gives us the creative freedom to continually bring more to your classes!
Megaformer Class Benefits include increased muscular strength and endurance
- Better cardiovascular efficiency

The very popular treadmill workouts only allow the client one form of movement, a quick peeked heart rate and is hard and dangerous on the joints. On the Mega, your heart rate continues to increase over the duration of the workout, low impact full body, targeting all muscle groups. It’s just lower body!
I’m Pregnant, Is It OK To Come To Class?
If you have been active prior to you becoming pregnant, then yes, you can take Mega Barre Studio classes with no issues. We will show modifications for abdominal work and cardiovascular moves for you as you go along your pregnancy so you and your baby are perfectly safe! If you are just beginning to work out in general after finding out you are pregnant, I would advise you wait to try classes until after delivery and with doctor’s clearance. Before starting any new activity, I strongly encourage your doctor’s approval.
What Do I Need To Bring To Class With Me?
For Dance Body or HIIT classes, please wear clean (inside only) tennis shoes. Otherwise, bare feet or sticky socks is fine. For Megaformer classes, sticky socks ARE required. You’ll also need water and a towel. Oh, don’t forget a positive attitude, focus, and intention! If you prefer your own mat, that is fine.
How Long Is The Class?
Class times vary. Barre studio classes run anywhere from 45 minutes in Express Classes, to 60 minutes for most others. Megaformer studio classes will be 45 minutes long every time. If you must leave early, please inform your instructor before class starts. For your own safety, we do not recommend starting or ending more than 5 minutes past start time or before finish time. Proper warm up and cool down is very much part of the effectiveness of our workouts.
How Many Times Per Week Should I Go?
You’ll see quicker results when you are coming 2-3 times per week. Stay tuned for more additions to our schedule.
What Do I Wear?
Comfortable, breathable clothing but nothing too baggy. What not to wear…dangling jewelry, loose clothing, strong perfumes.
Are Classes For Both Men and Women?
Absolutely!
Do You Have Childcare?
Yes, children ages 6 months-12 years are welcome. Cost is $5per child. However, we are not a day care. This is a babysitting service provided to you for convenience. All of our sitters have BCI clearances and are CPR certified for your assurance. Please note that the sitters WILL NOT change diapers, feed bottles, take children to the bathroom or provide snacks. If anything of this nature is needed, the sitter will pull the mom from class for their assistance.
